Basil & Bread began with a love of baking and a belief that good food brings people together.
Growing up with Dominican roots, the kitchen was always more than a place to cook. It was where stories were shared, music played in the background, laughter filled the room, and there was always space for one more at the table. Food meant connection, comfort, and community.
After more than twenty years in leadership and Human Resources, baking became something unexpected: a creative outlet and a way to slow down. What started as curiosity quickly grew into a love for the art of sourdough—the patience, the process, and the little bit of magic that happens when simple ingredients come together.
In 2024, Basil & Bread became a home-based microbakery rooted in small batches, artisan bread, and creating food that feels generous and welcoming. Today you'll find sourdough loaves, pan sobao, focaccia, seasonal treats, classes, and experiences designed to bring people together.
Because Basil & Bread has always been about more than bread.
It's about gathering, sharing, and creating those "come in, sit down, have a little more" moments that make people feel at home.
